Framework

Location: Delaware

Child care associations promote the education and well-being of children, families, and child care providers.

Delaware Association for the Education of Young Children (DAEYC) is directly affiliated to the National Association of the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), working with children from infancy to eight years of age. DAEYC was created in 1969 to serve the children and families of Delaware on behalf of their rights and needs. DAEYC aims to enhance the early education and early care according to the guidelines of NAEYC. These guidelines work for families and children to build personal development, enhance education, and increase awareness of the field of early education.

Nearly 40% of all children under the age of five live under the poverty line in the state of Delaware, DAEYC works to improve their ability to be successful learners. In order to achieve this, DAEYC also includes Core, Career Advisement, T.E.A.C.H as well as a statewide conference to help support the children of Delaware. Studies show that 7 in 10 children in the state are not school ready, DAEYC, in partnership with various programs and NAEYC, strives to provide their mission and offer optimal learning opportunities, growth and development for all children.
