West Virginia Early Learning Standards Framework

Framework

Location: West Virginia, US

Authors: West Virginia Department of Education

The West Virginia Department of Education strives ensure all children become lifelong learner. The department believes this is achievable by instilling the proper skills at a young age. The West Virginia Early Learning Standards Framework provides resources and guides educators to provide developmentally appropriate activities and meaningful experiences. By using proper strategies, educators are able to offer high quality early education, which maximizes learning and development in children. By following a standardized framework, all children in the state will be provided with the same opportunities and skills prior to entering kindergarten. It is to be noted that the framework is not to be used as an assessment tool to hold children back from entering kindergarten.
