Learning about what happens at a fair through singing songs and discussion.

 Step 1:

Have the class puppets gather all the children around and tell the class all about they are so excited to go to a special event called the fair. Ask the students if they have ever been to a fair. What do you do there?

Step 2:

Show a photo of a fair. What looks like fun? What would you do first?

Step 3:

Sing the Round and Round song together a few times until everyone becomes familiar.

Step 4:

Introduce the welcome song. When it’s a child’s turn and their name is said, that child can take their balloon tag and hang it on the welcome wall.  This helps with name recognition.

Round and Round We Go

Sung to "The Wheels on the Bus"

The carousel goes round and round,

Round and round, round and round.

My little horse goes up and down

As round and round, we go.

Welcome Display Song

Sung to "Are You Sleeping?"

Where are we going? Where are we going?

To the fair! To the fair!

Let's have some fun! Let's have some fun!

Hip, hip, hooray! Hip, hip, hooray!

(Lisa), add your balloon. (Lisa) add your balloon.

Let's have some fun! Let's have some fun!

At the fair! At the fair!

Hip, hip, hooray! Hip, hip, hooray!
