A great way for infants to explore fair treats!
This activity will incorporate showing a visual of fair food.
Educators will give a piece of the food item (from the image) to the child and announciating "Mmmm."
As children becomes familiar with the activity, it is encouraged her to have each child imitate "Mmmm" sounds.
For this developmental activity you will need:
Images of treats found at the fair (icecream, cotton candy, hot dogs etc)
A variety of clean food containers
Receptive and Expressive Language, Number Sense, Quantity and Operations, Geometry and Spatial Sense
Exploration of treats from the the fair.
Sit with the child and show them a picture of treats they would find at the fair. Show them the toy foods, offer a piece to the child and say “mmm”. Expand on this by saying “The children are still hungry. They want some more food.”
As the children become more familiar with the game, encourage them to imitate the “mmmm” sounds.
Allow the children the freedom to explore the toy foods and containers by taking the food in and out, by putting the lids on and taking them off and by shaking the containers. Give children the space to discover new ways to use these items.
