Location: Idaho

The Idaho Association of the Education of Young Children Idaho (AEYC) strives to ensure all children in Idaho thrive, grow and learn. Idaho EAYC works to provide quality care while increasing awareness about the importance of early education. To achieve their goals, Idaho AEYC offers The IdahoSTARS Project as well as READY! For Kindergarten and READ Up projects.

The IdahoSTARS project provides professional development to early educators that is tailored to increase the overall quality of care and education provided to young children. The program involves training, mentoring, assessments, accreditation, as well as scholarships. Idaho AEYC has partnered with the University of Idaho Center on Disabilities and Human Development to create and execute the program to educators. The READY! For Kindergarten program connects families with the proper tools and education they need to assist in the brain development of their child to further increase their success in school. Lastly, READ up aims to ensure children learn all year long, even during summer break. This program encourages children to keep up with reading by offering free books as well as a storytime sessions for all children from infancy to eight years of age.

As Idaho NAEYC is an affiliate with the National Association for the Education of Young Children, membership is offered to all those in the childcare industry, as well as those who wish to protect the rights of all young children in the state. Idaho AEYC offers various events, conferences and trainings throughout the year to allow for open communication and network building for individuals in the field.
