Cognitive development is an important outcome in preschool
Early learning outcomes are the skills, behaviors, and knowledge that a child should demonstrate at each age and stage of his or her development.
Head Start programs have a framework that outlines what children should know and do in five developmental domains from birth to 5 years old. The developmental domains included in the early learning outcomes framework are approaches to learning, social and emotional development, language and literacy, cognition, and perceptual, motor and physical development.
The approaches to learning domain incorporates self-regulation in emotional, behavioral and cognitive areas, otherwise known as executive functioning. Cognitive development includes reasoning, memory, problem solving and thinking skills that allow children to understand the world around them. As with all milestones, children reach each learning outcome in their own time and achieve each early learning outcome at different points in their development.
Preschool or Nursery plays an important role in your child’s mental and physical development. Kids learn new things and learns to interact with people other than family. Nice post.
