In this webinar we welcomed Christina Bretz and Valerie Zaryczny, from Learning Without Tears! Christina and Valerie discussed four unique strategies for how we can use music to boost school readiness! During this session, they uncovered important research on the benefits of implementing music into learning, and its critical impact on social-emotional development and letter recognition. They outlined actionable strategies for all early childhood professionals, and how they can incorporate various musical tools and techniques in the classroom to enhance social-emotional and literacy development.

Christina Bretz, Learning Without Tears
Christina Bretz, DOT, OTR/L is an Occupational Therapist from Kentucky. She received her doctorate in occupational therapy from Eastern Kentucky University. She has extensive pediatric experience providing services to children in school settings, early intervention, home health care and private tutoring. Christina established an annual summer handwriting camp utilizing the Handwriting Without Tears® program. Christina began working for Learning Without Tears (LWT) in 2001 and currently works as a Senior Professional Learning Developer with the Professional Learning Team at LWT.
Valerie Zaryczny , Learning Without Tears
Valerie received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Wake Forest as and a Master of Science degree in Occupational Therapy from Washington University in St. Louis. She is a pediatric OT with experience across multiple settings including schools, clinics, early intervention, and teletherapy. She first attended a Handwriting Without Tears workshop in 2004 as a new therapist and has been in love with the products and methods ever since! After observing the success her students had with the curriculum, she became passionate about sharing the strategies with teachers and other therapists to empower them to help their students. This passion became a profession when Valerie became a National Workshop Presenter for Learning Without Tears in 2011. She currently lives in the Greenville, SC area with her husband and 2 kids where they enjoy traveling and all kinds of outdoor adventures, especially those including hiking boots, snow skis, and kayaks.
