Edusight is a Toronto-based gradebook and learning portfolio that allows teachers to document and understand their students’ learning. The platform has two parts to it: a Classroom tool for documentation and a Magic tool for analysis. Edusight had partnerships with Pearson as well as three Toronto school districts boards.

Earlier this month, Edusight announced on their website that they will be shutting down (content modified for brevity):

Despite positive feedback from users, we were unable to find a scalable and profitable business model that would allow us to continue operating.

From now until June 30, 2017, we will work tirelessly to support and transition off users. We will also be returning remaining investor money.

All data on Edusight will be deleted from our servers at 11:59 pm EST on June 30, 2017.

Students / parents will also be able to export data from their Timeline - please refer to our guide on exporting data for details. .

With Edusight closing its doors, some preschools will be considering alternative tools to document and understand observations in the classroom for after the service is disabled.

If you are part a pre-k program on Edusight that would like to continue giving parents insight into programming, get in touch with us for a free tour of HiMama to see if it will be a good fit for your program.
