Early Education Nation is Live!

Your educator hub for resources to do your best work

We know that educators love to share; ideas, their work, not to mention teaching our youngest sharing co-operative skills.

Day 3 of the #aprilphotochallenge by @learningwithlambert is a look at my teacher planner. I got this planner last summer from Office Max and I really like it! It has clear pocket cover to make it customizable. I also like the layout. #teachersofinstagram #teachersfollowteachers #teacher #teachertribe #iteachtoo #kindergartenteacher #primaryteacher #udderlycraftyteacher #iteachkindergarten #teacherlife #teacher planner

At the core, Early Childhood Education is about community - strengthening relationships between parents and educators and working together to improve learning outcomes for children aged zero to five.

Announcing a new space just for you

We just launched Early Education Nation to give you, educators, a central hub of resources for learning and sharing amongst the ECE community.

We believe that sharing our work and thoughts is a critical component to the professionalization of early childhood education, and we know that you will give back in amazing ways.

We wanted to create a space that would shine a light on the impactful work that you do each day:

  • The little hacks for getting children to put shoes on independently.
  • The song you love to sing to welcome spring.
  • A policy or template you've found really useful for staff.

Hosted our first Salon about project-based learning with education leaders in the Chicago area! We learned about actionable ways to incorporate PBL in classrooms, and also talked about the obstacles that educators face when talking with parents and admin. The community left feeling inspired and with next steps. Join us for the next conversation in May. Till then, we have some exciting news coming up in the next couple of weeks. Stay tuned + sign up for updates, link in bio!

What will I find in Early Education Nation?

One resource I think is so interesting is Diverse Children's Literature Recommendations by Jesi Sucku. Here is a great example of a resource list everyone can use starting today.

How are HiMama and Early Education Nation connected?

HiMama is a social enterprise who supports the professional development of educators. Our intention with Early Education Nation is to host a space where educators contribute resources that the community can make use of. You do not have to be a HiMama customer to participate in Early Education Nation. We’ve evaluated how our practices impact our employees, the early childhood education community, the environment, and our customers. HiMama became a Certified B Corporation in March 2018. B Corps are a new type of company that uses the power of business to solve social and environmental problems. Similar to fair-trade or organic certification, B Corp certification is awarded only after a rigourous third-party assessment by the non-profit B Lab that evaluates a company’s demonstration of social good, environmental performance, accountability, and transparency.

Did we mention there are prizes?

All Early Education Nation participants have an opportunity to vote for work they find valuable. The submission with the most votes each quarter will receive an $100 Amazon gift card. Our way of thanking you for contributing to this positive space.

Anyone can participate in Early Education Nation. This is a space for you to collaborate, share and brainstorm. See you there?
