Just one day after launching HiMama six years ago, we have passed a surreal milestone that seemed nearly impossible when setting forth on this journey:
500 million moments shared on HiMama!
Five. Hundred. Million. We still can’t believe it.
Perhaps the most difficult day in a parent’s life is when they leave their precious little one at daycare for the first time. A million questions are swirling through their heads: Will they be OK without me? Will they learn anything? Will they have enough to eat? Will they get enough sleep? Will they have fun? What if I miss an important new milestone?
Every day, we hear incredibly moving stories from the child care providers and parents who have been impacted by our app. Some stories are about how we help parents understand the details of their kiddo’s day so they can have more meaningful conversations in the evening. Others are true tear-jerkers like a parent seeing a video of their baby’s very first steps, which they otherwise would have missed.
And now, we have passed the overwhelming/humbling/crazy/amazing milestone of sharing half a billion moments just like these with parents all around the world.
Meg Saak, Director at The Elegant Child in St. Louis, MO, sums it up best:
“Our working parents are so in love with our HiMama app and it has enabled them to stay in touch with their children all day long. It helps alleviate the guilt of a working parent by staying in such close communication with their child’s teacher between the instant pictures, messages, updates, etc. We are a family owned school that just celebrated our 26th year. Some of our teachers have been here almost that long, and they are a whizz at using the app. You should see Miss Paulette on a tablet! Happy parents=happy school….and a lot of that is attributed to HiMama!”
From all of us on the HiMama team, THANK YOU to all of the talented and dedicated early childhood educators who work tirelessly to provide great experiences for the children (and parents) in their care. You are on the ground floor (often literally!) ensuring that the next generation is getting everything they need to have a bright future, and we are proud to be a part of that journey with you.
We can’t wait to see what the next 500 million moments will have in store!
What is your favorite moment that you’ve shared? Let us know in the comments!
