Child care associations promote the education and well-being of children, families, and child care providers.

The New Mexico Association of the Education of Young Children (NMAEYC) affiliated with the National Association of the Education of Young Children in 1968 with the first board structure created in 1986. Since their creation, NMAEYC has aimed to provide quality care and promote the well-being for all children from infancy to eight years of age. NMAEYC achieves their goals through offering professional development for educators and advocacy for the field.

NMAEYC works to achieve various long-term goals to benefit the children and educators of New Mexico. NMAEYC strives to be the leading association for research and information for the early care community through strong leadership and achieving positive change. To achieve their long-term goals, NMAEYC builds strong relationships with partners and regional affiliates. Lastly, the NMEAYC works to provide recognition and reasonable compensation for all those who work in the field of early care and education.
