Child care associations promote the education and well-being of children, families, and child care providers.

ExceleRate Illinois aims to make one of the most important decisions you will make a little easier by helping parents choose a quality child care provider. ExceleRate Illinois recognizes how important quality and advancements are in early learning and development and therefore wants to aid parents in the process of choosing the best one for their child.

ExceleRate Illinois is designed to improve on the everyday problems and issues early educators face. In order to maintain consistency, ExceleRate Illinois has established standards for infants, toddlers, and preschool aged children. These standards have created a framework for helping children develop physically, intellectually, emotionally and socially.

To increase efforts and maintain quality and standards, ExceleRate Illinois awards “Circle of Quality” designations. There are three levels within the circle, bronze, silver and gold. The Bronze Circle of Quality indicates that qualifications have been met and that staff are engaged and improving. The Silver Circle of Quality indicates that a center has gone beyond quality standards in their learning and teaching environment, administration, and professional development for teachers. Lastly, the Gold Circle of Quality indicates that a center has far surpassed all standards and are actively engaged in continuous improvement.

ExceleRate Illinois works to ensure the youngest members of society obtain a high-quality education. By working towards and obtaining high-quality education for all, children become more prepared for school and life.
